The purpose of this evaluation is to determine the technical and economic viability of minerals or concentrated bioleaching.

Bioleaching evaluation studies are carried out in two phases:

First phase

A laboratory scale determination will indicate whether the mineral or concentrate is a good bioleaching material (sample required: < 1 kg).

BIOHIDRICA can determine if your mineral or concentrate can be biologically leached. In this study, the bioleaching rate and the properties of the leached material will be characterized.

For gold minerals, in which the gold is finely disseminated in pyrite or arsenopyrite, the required sulfur bioleaching quantity is determined to reach a prospective goal of gold recovery by cyaniding.

Second phase

If the first phase shows promising results, leaching tests are carried out in columns or tank agitated reactors. This study provides the fundamental scaling-up process antecedents (required material: 1-10 kg of sample or more).
